Where’s the romance?
Marie Claire interviews Heidi Klum in the June 08 issue and Mrs Seal reveals the proposal technique that Mr Klum used to snare the Project Runway beauty.
Seal whisked Heidi away by helicopter to a glacier in the Canadian Rockies where she found waiting an igloo built just for them with a bed, showered in rose petals, sparkling with candles (seems a bit dangerous for an igloo don’t you think?) and topped off with food and champagne.
What chance do us normal folk have? Us girls would be lucky to get a rose, let alone rose petals, let alone a helicopter taking us to a romantic remote destination!
I have always thought that we don’t stand a chance, women read these magazines and watch TV shows like Brothers & Sisters & Grey’s Anatomy, where grand gestures of love & passionate embraces are the norm, so we become accustomed to this.
How many times have you seen the knight in shining armour racing to proclaim his love for his lady on horseback and thought - “As if that ever happens in the real world?!” Our heads are filled with all these ridiculous ideas, meanwhile most men have no chance of living up to this because they are watching The Simpsons or sport.
Maybe the guys have it right - they say ignorance is bliss…

Girls (and boys!), was your other half romantic and pulled out all stops to pop the question? Is true romance & spontaneity for the wealthy? Or is romance dead these days, is that why we swoon over the McDreamy’s in the TV world? I want to hear your thoughts!
