90210 - The Next Generation
Beverley Hills 90210, the show that became a cultural phenomenon, revolutionized television and defined a generation.
I don’t know about you, but here at The Lil’ Mama Blog we heart 90210 and if you haven’t already heard, 90210 is coming back to our TV screens this year. The original Beverley Hills, 90210 burst into our lives and impressional minds in 1990, and running for a golden decade, finished up in 2000. Watching it again now is a riot - the fashion, the hair, the language - the epitome of the 90s. Personally, it had more effect on me than I would like to admit. Still to this day, my dream car is a red convertible BMW - Kelly Taylor’s mode of transport. Thankfully though, I have left the tragic hair styles in the past where it belongs.
But Brandon & Brenda Walsh, Kelly Taylor, Donna Martin, Dylan McKay, Steve Sanders & David Silver were a big part of our lives in the most influential times of our lives and its return fills me with an equal mix of dread & elation.
The show will once again revolve around a group of wealthy & not so wealthy teenagers attending West Beverley High - not forgetting the parents and teachers. The good (or bad) news is - some of the original cast is returning! So far it is confirmed that Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) & Donna Martin (Tori Spelling) have agreed to return to their old stomping ground. And rumour has it that Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering) is interested too.
CW has released an intro to the new cast, so for your enjoyment - here it is.
And for those of us that remember ‘the good old days’, here are the opening credits for the original Beverley Hills, 90210 - featuring the whole cast.
